1. I will keep my dog(s) under control at all times and ensure my dog(s) is(are) not a public nuisance. I will not allow my dog(s) to roam. I will SET THE EXAMPLE for responsible dog ownership.

2. I will deep my dog(s) in a healthy environment; maintaining good standards of health and care, including veterinary care; and mental health which includes regular contact with people and proper socialization.

3. I will engage in ethical breeding practices. I will attempt to produce and sell only puppies and adult dogs of sound health and temperament.

4. I will accurately register stock and keep records of mating and pedigrees in accordance with AKC regulations. No registration will be sold separately from the dog.

5. I will not breed a bitch to have more than two (2) liters in three (3) consecutive seasons.

6. I will refuse stud service to any bitch I consider to be in poor health or of unsound temperament, or having show disqualifying faults as per AKC and the breed standards. Nor shall I use a dog at stud which I consider to have any of these faults.

7. I will not undertake the breeding of a bitch unless I am prepared to keep resultant puppies until each is suitably placed even if it takes longer than anticipated.

8. I will adhere to the AKC recommended standards as to minimum selling age of puppies either in accordance with a national breed club standard or not less than seven (7) weeks old.

9. I will not recommend, support, or participate in an way in the buying and selling of purebred dogs in commercial wholesale/retail business.

10. I will not sell, donate, or give dogs to wholesalers/retailers or for raffles.

11. I will refrain from deceptive/erroneous advertising.

12. I will not knowingly sell or transfer unsound dog(s) without written disclosure to the buyer at the time of the sale/transfer.

13. I will sell all puppies which I consider to be of pet quality or which have a disqualifying fault as defined by their breed standards or AKC on a “Limited Registration” or on a spay/neuter contract and withhold papers until verification by a veterinarian of the spay/neuter.

14. I shall conduct myself at all times in a manner which will reflect credit upon myself and upon this kennel club, regardless of the location or circumstances, but especially when attending dog shows or any Greater Sierra Vista Kennel Club event/activity, whether as a participant or spectator.
